After taking a leap into design five years ago, interior designer Jacqueline now thrives at a firm she loves, creating spaces that reflect comfort, charm, and timelessness. Inspired by quiet cottage aesthetics and her suburban upbringing, her work is deeply personal, rooted in collaboration, storytelling, and a love for home.
Tucked just outside of Portland, in the wooded quiet of Bethany, Oregon, designer Jacqueline has created a life that mirrors the kind of spaces she loves to design, peaceful, grounded, and full of charm. “We have local markets, local food restaurants,” she says. “It’s sweet to be able to go on a walk, hear the trees blowing, and see the beautiful mountains filled with trees.”
It’s a lifestyle that suits her. Raised in the suburbs, Jacqueline always felt pulled toward the warmth of cottage-style homes and the rustic character of woodsy cabins. “As an adult now, I crave quietness,” she says. “Away from the city and very close neighbors… haha.”
Her path into design wasn’t perfectly mapped out, but it unfolded with intention. “I took a risk and jumped,” she says. “Now, five years later, I’m at a firm that I love designing for.” Most recently, she’s collaborating with Known, bringing her sense of calm and timelessness to a new collection centered around the spaces people hold most sacred.
“The possibility of working with residents, and designing their sacred homes,” she says, is what excites her most about the partnership.
Jacqueline's Favorites
Her debut collection tells a familiar story. “A story of comfort, charm, and a sense of timelessness,” she describes. The pieces echo her personal home—layered, cozy, and enduring. “My collection definitely speaks to the way my home is designed as well.”
Inside her own space, Jacqueline lives with her husband and their dog, Bella. Daily life shifts with the seasons. “We hibernate in the fall/winter… haha. And spring/summer we’ll be out enjoying the sun and warmth!” she says. Warmer months often mean dinner out—“Golden Valley Brewery is our go-to!”—but in the colder seasons, they always eat at home, gathered around the table.
“Dining room. Always,” she adds. “Dining table and chairs.” It’s a steady ritual, one that brings a sense of warmth and rhythm to the quiet months at home.
That rhythm isn’t accidental. Jacqueline is someone who finds peace in structure. “I’m a planner,” she says. “I wouldn’t be able to function without a personal calendar. I don’t know how people live life without one!” It’s a sentiment that reflects not just her daily habits, but her overall design ethos—intentional, thoughtful, and always rooted in creating space for what matters most.
When it comes to describing her aesthetic, she doesn’t hesitate: “Omg… Martha Stewart. Hands down. I gravitate towards her timelessness and charm.” It’s a fitting reference—Jacqueline’s work is defined by grounded beauty, structure, and a deep love of home.
Though she doesn't plan to stay for much longer, “I’ve lived at my current home for almost two years, will be moving again soon! So very temporary.” Jacqueline has still filled her home with moments that matter. Among the most meaningful: her framed wedding bouquet and her husband’s boutonniere. “Every time I look at them, I’m reminded of the beautiful day we had at our wedding. A reminder of all the days we continue to choose each other.”
Safely tucked away are their vow books. “Every year we reread them,” she says. “And it’s so special.”
When she’s not designing, Jacqueline is discovering new creative outlets. “I love reading! Recently have been interested in baking since I’m gluten free. Would love to make my own GF goodies.” Her design media of choice? “Better Homes and Gardens, Country Living.”
As she looks to the future, Jacqueline isn’t rushing the next step, but she’s sure of where she’s headed. “To continue growing my career and skills,” she says. “Eventually, begin a family. Then, that will be sole focus.”
